Mother Sues School District Over Son's Death An Illinois family is suing their deceased son's former school district for $25 million. The mother of 13 year old Robert Hensley is suing the school district because she claims that the school's actions lead to the death of her son. On November 27th Hensley's school went on a field trip to see the newest "Matrix" film, and two days later Hensley was struck by a train and killed while playing a game of "chicken" with 4 other boys. Here is a graphic photo of the scene of the accident. Please do not press on the link if you do not want to see a deceased human's body split in two by a train: http://www.wayweird.com/archives/2003/oct/watch_that_train.php The attorney for the boy's mother sent this statement to local Illinois papers: "Robert Hensley was raised in a very poor family, his father left the family when the boy was only 4 years old, and Ms. Hensley raised him and 9 other children on her own. The family lives off of food stamps, doesn't own a car, and doesn't have a television set. The school district used unguided judgment by letting a classroom of poor children go see a movie at a brand new movie theatre, nontheless, knowing full well that these children are too poor to go and see a movie on their own. Robert's mother could never afford to take her boy to see a moving picture, and the school didn't seem to give one damn hell about that. After seeing the movie Robert became "brained-washed" by the experience and wanted to eat in restaurants, drive in cars, even enter a shopping mall. Just days after the field trip Robert decided to smoked some pot, and play a game of "chicken" with a train. The train won. If Robert Hensley had never gone on that field trip he would be alive today. Unfortunately for America's poor children our "politically Correct" public school system does not understand that poor children should not be shown things that they can never attain. Going to a movie theatre is something that no poor child should ever be made to do. Once they see something that they cannot have they'll become depressed, which will lead to drug abuse, domestic violence, theft, and even murder." -End of Statement We wanted to share this with our Way Weird audience because we want to know your thoughts on this lawsuit.
